Meet The Team

France Hoang

Creator

France Hoang is an experienced attorney and entrepreneur. He represents, advises, and counsels middle-market companies on a wide variety of matters, including sensitive government inquiries and internal investigations, corporate compliance, corporate governance, and government contracts law. Holding an active security clearance, France has unique and extensive experience with the defense, intelligence, and homeland security industries.

Earlier in his career, France served as Associate Counsel to the President of the United States. In this capacity, he represented the White House in a myriad of investigations and other sensitive matters before Congress, the GAO, and other government agencies, and he provided legal counsel to the Homeland Security Council.

His other experience includes brief service as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia, as well as practice at Williams & Connolly LLP. France graduated in the academic top 1% of his West Point class, earned a Master of Criminal Justice from Washburn University, and graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center.

France created Chisel because he saw a space in the legal market for something less than a law firm but more than a Bar Association. He thought Chisel, both as a coworking space and as a community for entrepreneurial lawyers, would fit the wants and needs of many D.C. area attorneys.

Tom Craig

Director

Tom Craig works with individuals and entities on a wide variety of legal matters, including government contracting, sensitive government inquiries and internal investigations, complex civil litigation, export and other regulatory compliance, structuring business transactions, and criminal defense. Tom also worked in matters including breach of contract claims against the government, enforcement of work share agreements, violations of non-competition agreements, bank fraud claims, grand jury subpoenas, and alleged trade secret violations.

Earlier in his career, Tom practiced law at Williams & Connolly LLP. He had a distinguished military career, serving more than 21 years as an active duty Marine, primarily in intelligence and counterintelligence billets. Tom earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Illinois and graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center.

Tom joined Chisel’s founding team because he knows an ordinary coworking space doesn’t meet many lawyers’ specialized needs, especially when it comes to client confidentiality and a professional office aesthetic. He hopes Chisel is a way to provide lawyers with the kind of coworking environment that other professionals already enjoy.
